We're thrilled to introduce our new IT Pathway, preparing students for the digital future, and announce our expansion to Manchester with training starting this September.
This edition also features highlights from Culture Week, the Canon Learning Day, and the grand finale of our Global Inspire Mentoring Programme.
Launching Our New IT PathwayWe are thrilled to announce the launch of our new IT and Digital Pathway, starting this September. The course combines classroom learning with a 45 day industry placement to provide practical, hands-on experience. UK’s creative industries bring in more revenue than cars, oil and gas – so why is arts education facing cuts?
Goodbye GA Students
This half term, we bid farewell to our Year 11, Year 13, and Year 14 students. We look forward to welcoming most of our Year 11s back in September for their sixth-form courses.
We're excited to hear that many of our Year 13s and 14s are already securing jobs with our industry partners like Global, Wavemaker, BBC, and more. Additionally, students are progressing to higher education courses across the UK to continue their training. Many Year 13s will also advance to the Level 4 programme here at Global Academy and specialized craft courses at Buckinghamshire College Group in partnership with Pinewood Studios.

Culture Week Was A Massive SuccessAt Global Academy, we celebrate equality, diversity, and inclusion year-round, culminating in our vibrant annual Cultural Week. This event showcases our multicultural community with music, fashion, diverse cuisine, and more. The highlight was our spectacular 'Catwalk' event! We also hosted the Roots to Routes panel, where industry leaders shared their journeys as women of colour, discussing stereotypes, challenges, and achievements. From colourful attire in the fashion show to savouring delicious cuisines at the Feast, Cultural Week had it all. |
Year 12 Mentoring Programme FinaleWe held a huge celebration event for our Global Inspire programme this half term. After months of networking and growth, around 30 Year 12 students teamed up with industry experts from Global to gain invaluable insights and build their career confidence. The programme concluded with a significant marketing task where mentors and mentees collaborated to create co-branded products, events, or experiences for Global’s brands. The day was filled with creative energy as students brainstormed, debated, and refined their ideas, culminating in dynamic presentations to a panel of industry leaders. The winning team’s innovative campaign earned them an invitation to further develop their concept at Global HQ. |
