It’s been a brilliant start to the new academic year at Global Academy. The year started off with our digital transformation programme, with every student being equipped with an iPad, breaking down barriers to creativity and ensuring equal access to world-class tools.

More families than ever are choosing Global Academy - proof of the growing demand for our unique blend of academic excellence and industry preparation and this November, two brand-new Saturday Schools open in South London and Scotland, giving students as young as 13 the chance to begin their Global Academy journey early.

From new courses to unforgettable live music moments and exciting opportunities for collaboration, here’s your update on what’s been happening this half term.

Join Our Industry Collaboration Workshop

On Monday 3rd November (1:30–3:30pm), we’re hosting a Whole Staff Industry Collaboration Workshop — and we’d love our partners to join us.

You’ll work alongside staff to co-design our KS4 curriculum and offer, ensuring our young people develop the skills and behaviours needed for employment in media and entertainment.

Rotating groups will explore:

• Connecting English, Maths & Science to industry skills

• Embedding resilience, professionalism & inclusion

• Creating live briefs, workplace visits & employer engagement

Each group will finish with a pledge of action for 2025–26.

🎬 New Courses: Sports, Music & Theatre

This September, we welcomed our first learners onto two brand new Sixth Form pathways:

• Sports Media & Broadcasting – students are already creating highlight reels and match commentary.

• Music Production – students are producing original tracks and mastering professional studio workflows.

We also launched GCSE Musical Theatre, with our first-ever cohort dancing, singing, and jazz-handing their way through lessons!

This term we partnered with Classic FM for an inspiring takeover day. Highlights included:

• Pop-up performances from the National Youth Orchestra 🎻

• Students creating Gen Z-focused content to showcase the power of classical music

• Industry sessions with the Classic FM senior leadership team
